OBSG Series 05 - Matthew 28:9-15


9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day...Matthew 28:9 – 15

JESUS resurrected and showed HIMSELF to the women and instructed them to go into the city to spread the good news, but the chief priests were too ashamed to admit the truth, and went ahead to bribe the guards who witnessed the resurrection to lie that the body of JESUS CHRIST was stolen from the grave by HIS disciples…Praise the LORD of HOST!

Folks you can see that rumors and lies did not just start with you and I, it was even done to our LORD JESUS, whom the entire world has evidence that HE is indeed the son of GOD ALMIGHTY.
JESUS did not allow the fake news spread all over to affect HIS mission, HE never bothered about it, instead, HE instructed everyone to continue to preach the gospel.

Folks, do not let anything you hear deter you from serving GOD or believing in HIS word, don’t be carried away by lies, instead be like Thomas, who instead of allowing the lies take over his thoughts and convince him, he asked for proofs and he got the proofs…Praise the LORD!

Folks always ask GOD, go to HIM in prayers and study the scriptures, you will find all the truth you need to know there.  GOD is always available to give you first-hand information like JESUS did with Thomas.  GOD is not angry at you asking for proof, HE will only be disappointed in you, when you refuse to believe even after seeing the proof.

What others think or say concerning any situation around you shouldn’t be the final answer, always seek the face of GOD, cos HE alone can give you that final answer that you seek. Remember, that the chief priests lied against JESUS and about HIS resurrection, but that never stopped HIM nor the gospel to spread abroad...Praise the LORD!

Prayer: FATHER fill our hearts always with your divine truth by the renewal of our minds and sense of reasoning through the help of the HOLY SPIRIT in JESUS name, amen.

OBSG Series 02 - Esau’s Mistake – Genesis 28:6-9

Esau had married two Canaanite women, women who were from different backgrounds as him, without the fear of GOD in them.  They were idol worshipers. After seeing that his parents urged Jacob to go marry from his mother’s people, he realized his parents were really displeased with his choice.  Esau trying to fix what he had done, took Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son as a wife, because to him, marrying his cousin like Jacob was instructed, would fix his broken relationship with his parents but little did he know he was going about it the wrong way, fixing a mistake with another mistake. OBSG Series 10 - Reward of Obedience prt.2

Esther 2:15-17   Esther was a no body and the niece of an Israelite living in a foreign land, but obedience brought her before King Ahasuerus and even made her head Queen who took over the position of a disobedient queen and wife (Queen Vashti)…Praise the LORD of HOST! Esther only followed the instructions of the King’s Chamberlain Hegai, who was also instructor to the other ladies waiting upon the King.  In the midst of plenty, when she would have lived like she pleased, she disciplined herself to listen to the chamberlain and got favoured and GOD crowned her Queen, wife of the most powerful king all over India and Ethiopia. This is a great lesson for us all, most of us today find it hard to obey instructions, we prefer to live as we please just like queen Vashti, who lost all she had due to her disobedience while Queen Esther gained everything and took over her position because she was obedient and followed instructions to the letter.
