OBSG Series 10 - Reward of Obedience prt.2

Esther 2:15-17   Esther was a no body and the niece of an Israelite living in a foreign land, but obedience brought her before King Ahasuerus and even made her head Queen who took over the position of a disobedient queen and wife (Queen Vashti)…Praise the LORD of HOST! Esther only followed the instructions of the King’s Chamberlain Hegai, who was also instructor to the other ladies waiting upon the King.  In the midst of plenty, when she would have lived like she pleased, she disciplined herself to listen to the chamberlain and got favoured and GOD crowned her Queen, wife of the most powerful king all over India and Ethiopia. This is a great lesson for us all, most of us today find it hard to obey instructions, we prefer to live as we please just like queen Vashti, who lost all she had due to her disobedience while Queen Esther gained everything and took over her position because she was obedient and followed instructions to the letter. Let us lear...

OBSG Series 09 - Importance of Repentance

Let us note two reasons why it is very important for us to repent as believers and children of the MOST HIGH GOD! When we don’t repent, we worship ourselves ( Exodus 20:2-3 ): As we proclaim CHRIST and live in such a way that we desire including continuing to sin, not only are we lying to others about what the Bible says, but we are lying to ourselves that GOD knows better. We are leading people down a dangerous path and continuing to be stumbling blocks. We are in essence slapping GOD in the face, saying, thanks for YOUR forgiveness, but I will take it from here. GOD will not tolerate this from us, especially those of us who have long been in the faith. When we repent, we worship God ( Revelation 19:6-7 ): As we proclaim what Christ has done for us on the cross, we believe HIS Word and that sin is not worth it. We grow in our walk and work with the LORD and the continued removal of sin from our lives. In these moments, we are truly living as new creations and the old v...

OBSG Series 08 - Why we should repent

There are so many reasons why we should repent as humans, reasons why should live a life without blemish, but due to long text alert, I will give us few reasons and then discuss the importance in our next series, praise the LORD of HOST! We repent so we can make heaven and see GOD's Kingdom: Repentance blots out our names from the book of death and imprints it in the book of life. As sinners, we sin and lost our privilege of eternity with Christ JESUS in heaven. John 3:3 . Living in GOD's Glory here on earth and after: Repentance brings down GOD's Glory into our lives.  It helps us enjoy the benefits of HIS reign here on earth before we pass on to eternity. When we sin, we fall short of HIS Glory Romans 3:23 . Remember how man fell short of GOD's glory in the beginning and was driven from the Garden of Eden into a world of suffering and hardship Genesis 3:22-24 . The Garden of Eden is an example of GOD's Glory here on Earth for us all. The first ...

OBSG Series 07 – GOD’s Favour

Genesis 29:1-8  Jacob proceeded cheerfully in his journey, after the sweet communion he had with God at Beth-el. Providence brought him to the field where his uncle's flocks were to be watered. What is said of the care of the shepherds for their sheep, may remind us of the tender concern which our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, has for his flock the church; for he is the good Shepherd, that knows his sheep, and is known of them.  The stone at the well's mouth was to secure it; water was scarce, it was not there for every one's use: but separate interests should not take us from helping one another. When all the shepherds came together with their flocks, then, like loving neighbours, they watered their flocks together. The law of kindness in the tongue has a commanding power, Proverbs 31:26 . Jacob was civil to these strangers, and he found them civil to him. Same way, if we today’s Christians listen and obey GOD’s word, HE will definitely do more...

OBSG SERIES 06 – Go ye therefore and teach all Nations...

Matthew 28:16-20 This was the first command and assignment given to us by JESUS CHRIST after Resurrection.  HE asked us to preach the gospel to all Nations of the Earth, baptizing them with water in the name of GOD the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. But before HE gave these command, HE declared and told us that all power in heaven and on earth has been given onto HIM, therefore, we have the authority of JESUS to change lives and win souls for GOD’s kingdom, heal the sick, raise the dead, etc…isn’t JESUS beyond awesome? I will like to point out two insights in the Bible verses… 1. JESUS only gave us command and responsibility when HE knows HE has paved the way for us to fulfill destiny and carry out HIS commands. 2. HE made provisions and gave us a clear assignment and purpose…praise the LORD! What have you been doing with your time as a believer? What is your excuse for not spreading the good news all over?  JESUS has done HIS part and cleared the coa...

OBSG Series 05 - Matthew 28:9-15

9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” 11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day... Matthew 28:9 – 15 JESUS resurrected and showed HIMSELF to the women and instructed them to go into the city to spread the good news, but the chief priests were too asha...

OBSG Series 04 – Matthew 28:1-8

Matthew 28:1-8 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. JESUS said I will destroy this church and I will raise it up in 3 days… ( J...

OBSG Series 03 - Reward of Obedience prt.1 – Genesis 28:10-22

Jacob had an encounter with GOD on his way to Haran to sojourn in the house of his mother’s brother.  He had a dream where he was told by GOD that HE will fulfill destiny with him, a promise GOD made with Abraham and also Isaac. There are three important things I want us to observe from Jacob’s encounter at Bethel; His obedience and step of faith brought him to the place of his destiny, where he had an encounter for the first time in his life with his creator. He met GOD at a point where he was left alone, GOD was waiting for him at the exact place his life’s journey was to begin. Jacob believed GOD and made a promise, even before his destiny was fulfilled Jacob obeyed his father and mother, not only did he obey, he took a step of faith to go to a land he has never been, not knowing if his uncle was dead or still alive, but he was determined to do as he was instructed. Praise the LORD of HOST! His Decision actually paid off, as he was met in a dream by GOD who prom...

OBSG Series 02 - Esau’s Mistake – Genesis 28:6-9

Esau had married two Canaanite women, women who were from different backgrounds as him, without the fear of GOD in them.  They were idol worshipers. After seeing that his parents urged Jacob to go marry from his mother’s people, he realized his parents were really displeased with his choice.  Esau trying to fix what he had done, took Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son as a wife, because to him, marrying his cousin like Jacob was instructed, would fix his broken relationship with his parents but little did he know he was going about it the wrong way, fixing a mistake with another mistake. Genesis 28:6-9 6 Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Padan Aram to take himself a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, “You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan,” 7 and that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Padan Aram. 8 Also Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not p...

OBSG Series 01 - Instructing a Child of Destiny – Genesis 28:1-5

Every time GOD finds a man to fulfill a purpose, specific instructions are given to such fellow…your success will be determined by your level of endurance and obedience to the instructions from GOD.  As we can see in Genesis 28:1-5, Jacob was a man of Destiny, whom GOD had ordained even before his conception, and as such, he was given instructions by his father Isaac to marry well from where he did as another covenanted child. Genesis 28: 1-5 1. Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and charged him, and said to him: “You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan. 2. Arise, go to Padan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father; and take yourself a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother. 3. “May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be an assembly of peoples; 4. And give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and your descendants with you that you may inherit the land in which you are ...
